Annex Burger, Oakland

4/13/14

Stopped in here the day after it opened and was happy that my husband found a lot of delicious choices, but was disappointed to hear that they have a Portobello burger on the way, but for now, their veggie burger is a meat pattie with veggies. I ordered a fry ($4) but left wishing their menu had something other than a big meat pattie.

Seating was comfortable. They had a bar/counter area, plus other tables both inside and outdoor.  The owner was in there making homemade ranch and saying hi.  Our server/bartender was friendly and the food came out pretty fast for as big of a burger as it was.  My fries could have been a little crispier, but I liked that they were cut into small pieces. (Note: they offer both standard AND sweet potato fries).

Would def stop in here again to try the Portobello burger, once they get it on the menu. Also "coming soon" is a $20 burger challenge. Half-pound burger infused with 2-million scoville heat scale sauce - if you can finish it in 10 minutes it's free and you get your picture on the Wall of Fire.
