Pyramid Taproom, Oakland Airport

2/24/14

What started out as a "cheers" with a $8 Smirnoff + Coke and a $14 Bloody Mary, ended with two soon-to-be flight passengers in an Airport.  You would think that with respect for people cutting their last-drink/flight departure times a little close, they'd be on top of service.  While that wasn't exactly the case with us (we could see our gate and we were in boarding group "A"), it still was frustrating to have to flag down our server to get the check. The place is not that big and we had to actually ask someone else to get it for us.

A $0.22 cent surcharge was on the receipt. I just noticed this and have no idea what that could have been for. Not a big deal, just odd to find unexplained items on your bill, no matter if they are for less than a quarter dollar.

Aside from service, our drinks were pretty good. While not strong, they were stronger than I expected for an airport bar. My husband's was definitely stronger than mine (the Bloody Mary), which was a bummer since mine was twice as much. But it was still tasty and I enjoyed it!
