I'm not very picky with my clam chowder. I love clams and often eat them straight from the can. So I was happy when my clam chowder bread bowl had lots of clams in it. Unfortunately, it was barely dug out so it was mostly bread with maybe a cup of chowder. Perhaps I got a bad bowl. It was good while it lasted, which wasn't long. A few birds gave me 'the eye' when I threw all the extra bread away - next time I'm on the wharf I'll probably give another place a try, even though my gaze usually catches Guardino's first.
