Preferred Charters, Santa Rosa

10/31/13

This year was my first year attending an annual Reno trip planned by Les Faneurs, (a French-Basque group my husband and in-laws are members of). Preferred Charter had two buses for all the cute little French people and our luggage for the 3 day weekend.

The pick-up (at two locations) was timely, as well as our return, and a trip to Virginia City over the weekend. The bus was clean and kept at a comfortable temperature (you do have a personal vent above your seat if it's too warm in the bus). Shades within the bus could be pulled down to limit the sun. There were overhead compartments in addition to the under-the-bus storage for larger bags. A small restroom was in the back and was stocked and clean.

My two complaints are that the seats were terribly uncomfortable, and while they did recline, it made it so the person behind you lost all their personal space - they shouldn't sit so straight up initially - it was awful after a couple of hours. Also, our driver became mixed up on directions more than once, having to turn around and taking unnecessarily longer routes. My husband would laugh about this complaint coming from a girl who lives her life getting lost all the time, but I'm not a professional driver. This should all be planned before these charter drivers take off - it's not hard to map out your trip before getting on the road. Well, it can be ... but it shouldn't be if that's what you do for a living!!!

However, the nice driver did tolerate a lot of singing in French (and English) and a DVD on repeat playing accordian music. So there's that.  :)
