Rescued Treasures, Walnut Creek

10/16/13

I'm pretty well established as a cat lover by my close (and even not-so-close) friends. I support rescued pets and currently have two kitties, who were both homeless when they found us. We said goodbye to a third baby a couple of months ago and I'm still not quite over it. http://www.yelp.com/biz/muller-veterinary-hospital-walnut-creek#hrid:qnstyuMGRLLmQmWPWmBvBA

All that being said, this thrift store has volunteers working to earn money for shelter cats. They work with Walnut Creek's Community Concern for Cats shelter. (A group very much involved in the WC Cat Video Festival).

Lots of really nice, fun, and cute items in here. Clothing (mostly women's), home goods, tons of books, shoes, and decorative items.  I left with two homemade catnip toys. $4 each. I was in a hurry and the woman behind the counter offered to pay my sales tax so that I could leave $8 and go. What?! That is really, really nice. And it was beyond thoughtful. I left $9 instead - knowing that every penny extra is going to a good cause!

Come check this place out next time youre downtown and thank the volunteers for giving their time to the furries!
